Mount Shuksan North Face
In retrospect this was probably a lot for me to handle at the time, but I’m super thankful for the receptive partners and the proper conditions for skiing a line this burly with no drama (although I was pretty tired). Would love to pay something like this forward one day.
The core theme for today: the upper mountain is always socked in
Getting up looker’s right on Shuksan up the White Salmon Glacier
Sefrit to Nooksack Ridge - not the greatest views today
Surprised we can even see Baker in these conditions
The pointy summit of Mount Shuksan
Edge of the world feeling as we start assessing and descending the north face
Photo credit to Tim of me skiing. Only posting to show how surreal the sluffing was going down - definitely one of the core memories imprinted on my mind from this outing.
Looking back up the Hanging Glacier
Looking back at the mountain with the summit still shrouded
Notes
- This was probably ~11 miles and ~6600 feet of vertical gain in 8 ½ hours.
