McGee Mountain

Acclimitizing to the elevation and checking out the foothills of the Eastern Sierra. Maybe some of the best top to bottom corn I’ve ever skied!

mcgee-2.jpg Looking at the White Mountains across the valley

mcgee-3.jpg The tallest of the range, the currently aptly named White Mountain Peak. We did consider skiing this mountain with the massive snowfall this season but didn’t have time with all of the other cool stuff to do in the area. 9500’ of vertical relief from the valley floor.

mcgee-6.jpg Looking deeper into the Sierra via McGee Creek

mcgee-7.jpg Mount Baldwin and The White Fang, with Red Slate just peeking over the former

mcgee-8.jpg Great White Fang and an eastern angle of Mount Morrison that I didn’t recognize. Man is it just me or do these peaks just kind of look the same 😅.

mcgee-11.jpg Some of the best corn I’ve ever skied in my life. There is some magic in the Sierra where the corn never seems to get mushy throughout the entire day, must be the season/time of year maybe.

Notes

  • This was probably ~7 miles and ~5400 feet of vertical gain in around 5 ½ hours.
