Mount Tom West Face
Mount Tom is one of the prominent mountains you see on the drive from Mammoth just before you turn the corner to Bishop. Most people opt to ski one of the east facing lines towards the valley, but a couple of us thought that the west facing stuff might be continuous with this kind of snow year.
Maybe the only good picture I have of Mount Tom, but it is one of the giants from the valley floor
Scoping out the start a couple days before. Good thing that the snow started pretty low, very little walking from the car.
Scheelite Chute from Pine Creek, a straight shot 6000 feet line
Thankfully in the shade for most of the day today
Booting up Gable Creek
Thankfully this was continuous albeit with a mandatory baby jump on the way down
Yummy - one of those days I wish I had a GoPro while descending this
Notes
- This was probably ~7 miles and ~6300 feet of vertical gain in about 7 ½ hours.
