Black Peak

Finally knocking this one out in between an iffy forecast window!

black-peak-1.jpg First full larch tree of the season!

black-peak-2.jpg But otherwise about a week too early for the rest of the larches.

black-peak-3.jpg Goode Mountain going in and out of the clouds. Lane told us his great-grandfather made the first ascent of this unit, awesome!

black-peak-6.jpg Love seeing the jagged peaks of Washington Pass, but I’m not too good at identifying them currently

Notes

  • This was probably ~11 miles and ~5200 feet of vertical gain in about 5 ½ hours.
  • We managed to park on the road pretty close to the trailhead, but parking can be veryyy bad this time of year. This trailhead gets hammered in particular and you might have to walk on Hwy 20 for up to a mile or more if you’re late.
