The previous day zapped more energy than expected, so I went for one of the more straightforward peaks in the area.

Morning reflections on Scatter Lake

Looking back at the lake while climbing up Abernathy. The lake was much prettier than the summit views (not featured).

More larches on the return out of the lake’s basin

Looking southwest towards the Reynolds Peak area. The size of the burn zone is quite large, but there always seemed to be specks of larches throughout the top of ridges in this area.

Notes

• This was probably ~11 miles and ~5100 feet of vertical gain in around 5 hours or so.
• There is a trail up the whole thing, with perfect bootskiing conditions down the scree.
