Timpanogos West Face

Summitting the Wasatch’s prettiest peak with the first corn run of the season.

Starting off dry at Dry Canyon Trailhead

Cool ledges feature - this has to be natural right? Putting the ski boots on around 7900 ft.

Ski crampon conditions, Utah Lake behind

Onto booting, Santaquin to Mount Nebo behind

Cascade Mountain

The ridge walk was mostly like this

The summit shelter

Fall line. Firm at the top even around 1:30pm, but delightful corn in the middle.

Then more mushy at the end, but we followed a neat gully feature to alllmost intersect with the Dry Canyon Trail

Lindon Utah Temple, looks like it’s still under construction at the time of writing (and just starting looking at Google Satellite/Street View dated a year ago)

Window view, but you can see the full line center, coming off the summit and trending looker’s left

Notes

  • This was probably ~12 miles and ~7000 feet of vertical gain in around 9 hours.
  • We left the option open to just hike down to Battle Creek Falls Trailhead and uber back to Dry Canyon but ultimately decided to just walk back. A little muddy at times but decent enough views to make up for it in my opinion.
