Mount Rainier Emmons Glacier

After gastronomically crashing out in NYC/DC for two weeks, I rallied for one last ski day this season. Some much overdue redemption for an earlier attempt in 2022 although it was one of the worst ski descents in my life quality wise lol. At least it was continuous!

The summit crater of Rainier, totally the best views in all of Washington

I see three ribs of Rainier from this side, with the Emmons route proper in the center - would love to ski the other two at some point

Notes

  • This was probably ~21 miles and ~10400 feet of vertical gain in a little over 14 hours. I would love to do 11-12 hours next time with the right conditions since we were going at a non-cramping pace uphill on my behalf (thanks Chris) and heinous conditions on the descent (getting beat by the mountaineers on the way down 😂).
