Mount Hector
Probably the easiest 11000 peak in the Canadian Rockies with probably the best mountain views I’ve had in my life.
Views just outside our residence

The Pulpit Peak massif
Climbing up with Bow Peak behind
The rock walls of Mount Andromache
Little Hector
Molar Mountain
Heading up the glacier
With the summit in view, which were in and out of the clouds
Just endless mountain views in all directions

Mount Temple looking huge

Hector Lake

We made a quick stop near the Peyto Lake viewpoint while stashing our cars for the traverse the next day

Notes
- This was probably ~9 miles and ~5400 feet of vertical gain in a little over 6 hours.
- Despite being one of the easiest Canadian Rockies 11000er, I thought the final true summit block was kind of spicy. Thankfully there was a fixed line we fished out because the 15 foot scramble with snow would’ve been very committing without it. We rappelled back down on fixed anchors.
