Goat Rocks

I was hoping we’d ski off the north side of Adams over this weekend but yea there is a good reason we don’t hear much from yonder in May, definitely too early. Thankfully Goat Rocks delivered on some decent corn.

The trail portion was kind of a slog with some bad blowdowns in certain spots

Finally above tree line

A playground for nice gentle corn runs

A nice picnic spot with Ives in the back

Looking at Old Snowy

And its volcanic arch!

Gilbert in the back

Some climbers on the way to Ives

The melted W/SW side of Ives

Notes

  • This was probably ~17 miles and ~7800 feet of vertical gain in a little under 9 ½ hours.
